Acupuncture is an ancient healing technique that uses fine, sterilized needles to treat a variety of conditions such as musculoskeletal pain (back pain, neck pain, headaches, shoulder pain, etc), poor digestive function, women’s and men’s health issues, respiratory concerns, anxiety and depression, and so on.
Treatment is delivered by inserting small, sterile needles only millimetres below the skin surface into precise points along the Meridian Lines. The Meridian Lines are specific energy channels used in the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) model of health and date back thousands of years to ancient China. For example, the Gallbladder Line runs down the back of the neck, along the torso, and down the leg. Small needles may be inserted anywhere along this line to help conditions such as headaches, neck pain, stress, or skin conditions. It is usually pain-free and relaxing.
The acupuncture provided here at Gentle Care Chiropractic Norwest is delivery by therapists trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This differs from having dry needling (done by many physiotherapists, doctors, and other health practitioners). Dry needling qualification is achieved through weekend courses, whereas Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncturists train for 4 years at a university level. They combine the best of ancient Eastern knowledge with Western medicine to bring your body back into balance.
We adhere to the strictest hygiene guidelines at Gentle Care Chiropractic Norwest and take pride in delivering safe and effective acupuncture treatment for your health condition. As your case is unique, we may combine acupuncture with nutritional advice, exercise, chiropractic, massage, and supplementation. The combination of these therapies is aimed at providing the best treatment results.
