Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique (AMCT)
AMCT is a system of analysis to treat joint and muscle conditions. It uses predefined movements to uncover hidden faults in the musculoskeletal system in order to relieve pain, correct the problem, and restore health.
Treatment is delivered with an adjusting instrument called the “Activator”. The Activator instrument delivers a high speed, specific force to a joint or muscle to help correct the problem. It is placed on a specific location on the body (revealed by the Activator Methods protocol) and pinpoints the hidden faults with a high-speed, but low force making for a pleasant experience for the patient, and a consistent treatment day in, day out.
The Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique was officially developed in 1967 by Dr Arlan Fuhr (chiropractor) and is one of the most popular treatment methods of chiropractic today, with over 150,000 registered practitioners in more than 15 countries around the world. The Activator Method is different than simply applying the instrument onto the body where there is tension or pain – it involves leg length analysis and a range of predefined movements to uncover hidden faults in the body. It is also suitable for most ages and addressed a wide range of musculoskeletal health problems.
As your health problem is specific and unique to you, these above treatment methods may be used in conjunction with additional therapies such as rehabilitation, balance training, corrective exercises, supplementation and diet modification. The combination of these therapies is aimed at providing long term results, and not just symptomatic relief.
